Esta, and jip of an appt!

We took Jaden to see Santa this past weekend.  Or as he calls him, 'Esta'.  I knew he wouldn't be thrilled with Santa, but I didn't think it would be too bad!  Well.... as soon as Jaden saw Esta, he freaked!  He burried his little head in my chest and clung to me with his arms and legs with all of the might he had.  Poor little thing.  I couldn't bring myself to pry him off of me and sit him on Santa's lap...so I am in these Santa photos with him this year!  It's a fun memory!
So then, the other night, he wanted to look at pictures of 'Esta' on Jacob's computer.  Jacob showed him the pictures, and left one on the computer for a few minutes.  Jaden looked at me, his bottom lip started to quiver, and he burst into the saddest little tears.  Ohhhhh...it was sooo adorable.

We had our 8 week OB appt today.  All they did was ask me a ton of questions, and give me some reading material.  What a jip!  AND...I won't even get another ultrasound until I'm 20 weeks.  This is so different than the IVF way of getting preggo.  So, I guess I just wait until my 12 week appt to hear the heartbeat!  I'll be counting down the days!!

Zoo lights

A couple of weeks ago we packed up allllllllll of Jacob's fam and headed to the zoo!  It was so fun to see all of the lights they have set up there.  It's also always fun to see the animals!  I was a little worried about how this visit would go because Jaden is HORRIFIED by gloves/mittens.  I hadn't put any on him before this day, so I knew it would be interesting.  Sure enough, he was very angry about the mittens.  Luckily, he calmed down after wearing them for a while.  He only got frustrated when he wanted to hold the Santa light stick that Papa bought him.

I asked Sarah if Isabelle could ride with us since I was afraid of getting car sick!  Too bad I couldn't borrow her on the way back home....when I did end up getting carsick!

Hmmmm....how do I hold this with these HORRID mittens on????!!!!!

Overall, it was a marvelous, yet tiring day!!!!!!!

2...6...9...

This one's all about my little Jaden boy!
~2....6...9.... is how he counts nowadays.  He loves counting...mostly when he's about to run/jump.  I love how he counts!  I think 6 is his favorite number now since Mickey Mouse counts to 6 in the one Mickey Mouse movie that we have!
~He also loves to answer questions now with "Yeah", "Yes", or "No".  It's so funny to ask him questions and see what his answer is.  I love it when he says so certainly "Yes".  Cutest thing EVER!!!
~He also will call himself Jaden boy after he plays with Lilly.   Yesterday he just kept repeating "Jadenboy"...and then he would say "Lilly, Jadenboy"
~He just started playing 'restaurant' tonight with Jacob.  He doesn't have a play kitchen... so he was 'cooking' in his Little Tykes tool bench.  He would look through the little window at Jacob and hand him invisible food.  Jacob would ask Jaden for a certain food item, and Jaden would say "Yes"...or "No"....unfortunately his restaurant was out of a lot of food...so usually the answer was no.  That was hilarous!
~I love sitting with him at the breakfast table in the mornings.  He will go over things that happened the previous day.  He is so funny... it's amazing what little things stick out to him.  I can't wait to see how these little conversations change in the next few months.  He is getting sooooo big!
~Jaden loves to name colors.  We ask him what color something is.  Sometimes he gets it right, sometimes he gets it wrong.  But no matter if he's right or wrong, he says the color with such certainty.  His favorite colors to name seem to be blue "boo" and green "geen".

I love being his mommy.  He is the most amazing little boy in the whole world.  He's truly a ray of sunshine!

Knitting

God is knitting this little one together!  Isn't that amazing!??  We went to the ultrasound yesterday expecting to get confirmation of a miscarriage and instead we saw a teeny tiny beating heart.  And immediately I was reminded that God is awesome!

I can't even explain my gratitude.  Our prayers have definitely been answered.  I think the next 5 weeks could be long ones...I'm still spotting, and I know I could have that on and off for the first trimester. 

Another small blessing:  I barfed on Sunday night!  YAY!!

We woke up to SNOW one morning this week!  He was so excited, and kept asking for Santa!

Does anyone need help decorating their tree?  Jaden is the best tree decorator!  He will add so much pizazz to your tree with items you didn't even know could be ornaments!

And when he finishes decorating your tree with these new ornaments... he will say "Cute....Nice"!

And I have to admit, I thought it looked very cute...and nice!

Pregnancy Update

This week has been a pregnancy rollercoaster!  After my post Monday, a lot has happened.  I got my second HCG test on Wednesday.  My HCG went from 22,000 to 35,500.  So the levels "didn't quite double"...as the nurse put it.  I also had some bleeding on Wednesday night that lasted about an hour before I went to bed.  When I woke up on Thursday it had stopped.  So we were very confused!  The doctor said we can't have an ultrasound until Monday when I reach 7 weeks.  So we have to wait until then to get confirmation on what is happening.  I did, however, start bleeding again yesterday.  So I am convinced I am losing this pregnancy.  We are taking it well.  Jaden helps A LOT!  He is so busy and always into something, so we don't have time to really dwell on what is going on.
I guess I will post another update after Monday's ultrasound when we know for sure what is going on.

Scare

We had a little bit of a scare on Sunday.  I started spotting.  It's really nothing new for me with pregnancies.  I had it until I was 12 weeks with Jaden, so I tried not to get too worked up over it.  Again... easier said than done.  I called my OB on Monday, hoping for one of those beloved/much sought after ultrasounds.  Of course... no!  They just sent me for more HCG levels to check and see how they look.  I stopped spotting yesterday, so I felt like everything would probably be ok.  But while I waited for the OB to call today to tell me my levels, I started spotting again!  WHATTTT the......  so I was a little alarmed, but at the same time I was holding myself back from VOMITING!!!  So, I felt like that was reassuring!
Then, the nurse called... my levels are 22,000!!!  That is perfect.  My levels 2 weeks ago were 116.  So they appear to be more than doubling every 48 hours like they should.  I am still not out of the woods yet (although that number seems very promising).  I have to get my bloodwork done again tomorrow to see if the levels are still doubling. 
We are praying that everything is perfect, and this spotting is just kind of normal for me and my pregnancies!

5weeks 5days!

First of all, I know you all will be wander-lusting over out plastic ball covered Christmas Tree... and for that, I say 'You're Welcome'!!  Our tree is only decorated in the middle... no ornaments on the bottom 3 feet because someone keeps stealing stuff off of that part.  And no ornaments on the top foot or so, since I can't reach that high!

I'm trying to be really optimistic about this pregnancy, and not worry so much!  It's easier said than done!  I will have an ultrasound at 7 weeks, so I think that will help ease my mind!

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along?  5weeks, 5 days

Size of baby:  Sesame seed

Total weight gain/loss:  None, that I know of

Symptoms:  occasional mammary soreness, a little more emotional...( I'm dying to feel more symptoms!!)

Maternity clothes?  No way!  But I still have a bit of Jaden's baby pooch, so I'm thankful to have the pregnancy excuse for it again!

Stretch marks?  No Way!  I'm not going to start getting any with this pregnancy!

Sleep?  Awesome!  I love sleeping!  I don't think I've started snoring with this one yet!

Best Moment This Week:  Just making it through with no spotting...like I had with Jaden

Miss anything?  Nope

Movement:  No

Cravings?  Not yet!

Gender?  Will be a surprise at delivery!  I think it's a girl!

What I'm looking forward to:  The 12 week mark, and my 7 week ultrasound!

A new Jaden-word!  Yesterday when I put his shirt on him he said "Cute".  Today when I put his pants on him he said "Cute, Nice".  Ahhh, yes.... wonder where he learned that from!!??
